I have catered quite a few wedding receptions. My favorite part is the best man speeches. Some have not been very good, even though the heart was there. Others were funny. There were even some that brought a tear to my eye. It seems to me that the ones who were prepared to give the speech are the ones who did the best job. They knew what they wanted to say. I could see that some of them were not used to speaking to crowds. But because they took the time to know what they wanted to say, you couldn’t tell how nervous they were.
