Bells Palsy Sufferers Can Often Benefit From Chiropractic Treatments for Their Symptoms
July 29, 2010 9:49 am Health and FitnessMany Bells Palsy sufferers find that chiropractic treatments can be quite helpful with the condition, but the usefulness of the procedure varies because of the differing skill levels of chiropractic practitioners and differing severity levels of patients. Nevertheless, it’s something to look into.
What I consider even better than chiropractic treatments are NCR “neurocranial restructuring treatments”… a form of manipulative therapy developed by Dr. Dean Howell. The procedure is painless – I’ve had it done several times myself just for the “natural face lift” benefits – and involves inserting a deflated balloon in the nose and inflating it briefly. This lifts the sphenoid bone, upon which all other bones in the head rest, and when they are released the compressed bones and muscles in the face restore themselves to more optimal positions.
This can not only help in improving the symmetry of appearance where chiropractic or acupuncture can do nothing, but might also help decompress the 7th cranial nerve AND restore some degree of muscle function.
Doctors trained in the technique are rare but they do commonly treat people with Bell’s Palsy, so it’s worthwhile to get into contact with them to see what can be done. Many DCR trained doctors are also naturopaths who can offer adjunctive therapies and protocols to help resolve the condition.
A great book on Bells Palsy called “Bell’s Palsy Natural Treatments and Cures” by Johnathan Porter contains more information and is available on amazon.com.
